A step-by-step guide to using TOKYEE. From creating a private room to running a full video meeting — here's everything you need to get started in seconds.
Quick start
Create a room
On the home page, click "Create Room". Enter a display name (or turn on "Join anonymously"), choose how long the room should live — 1, 12, or 24 hours — and create it. You'll instantly get a Room ID, a password, and an invite link.
Invite people
Share the invite link, or the Room ID and password, with whoever you want to join. Inside a room, open "About Room" and use "Share all details" — on phones this opens your native share sheet.
Join a room
To join, click "Join Room", enter the Room ID and password you received, pick a display name (or go anonymous), and you're in. Up to 5 people can be in a room at once.
Allow camera & microphone
Your browser will ask for camera and microphone permission — allow it so others can see and hear you. No camera? You'll automatically join in voice-only mode.
Talk, chat & collaborate
Use the control bar to mute, turn your camera on/off, share your screen, open chat, view participants, and share files. Everything happens in real time, peer-to-peer.
Leave or end the room
Click "Leave" to exit anytime. The room owner can destroy the room instantly — wiping all participants, messages, and files. Rooms also self-destruct automatically when they expire.
Inside the room
Every control you'll find in the call.
Microphone
Tap to mute or unmute yourself at any time.
Camera
Turn your video on or off. Others see your avatar when off.
Switch camera
On phones with two cameras, flip between front and back.
Screen share
Present your screen — your camera stays visible alongside it.
Chat
Send real-time messages with emoji. Never stored.
Participants
See everyone in the room and their mic/camera state.
File sharing
Share files up to 25MB. They vanish when the room ends.
Pin / spotlight
Tap a tile's pin to make someone the big main view.
Fullscreen
Expand the room to fill your screen for a focused view.
Good to know
- Up to 5 people can join a single room.
- Chat messages are never saved — they disappear when the room ends.
- Your own video is a small floating tile you can drag and resize.
- For camera and microphone to work, the site must be opened over HTTPS.
